#8Ellen, with a great use of die cuts. Reminds me of the Ratatouille ride at Epcot in Florida & Disneyland Paris.

#19, Carianne, inspired by unicorns. Love the use of the “out of the box” die set. This card brings back memories of the Flying Unicorn ride (now Flight of the Hippogrif) at Universal Florida.

#53, Kathyinspired by Epcot’s “Drinking Around the World.” Love her choice of sentiment & image. It does remind me of the old Norway ride Maelstrom, that was in Epcot.

Congratulations!

January 2025

So no one told you crafting was going to be this way.
Creative block, you’re stuck, you craft life’s DOA,
It’s like you’re glue stick is running out of cheer.
When your stamps won’t stick, your papers just flip, and creativity’s nowhere near.

But, I’ll be there for you, when the ink starts to run.
I’ll be here for you, like Mr. Mic, Mary, and more.
I’ll be there for you, ’cause you’re art inspires me too.

We’re hopping to a park, the one where you can eat.
Parque del Cafe today, where coffee’s a real treat.

Our designers have made pieces just for you,
Should they help make your day, your week, your month, or bring you some cheer?

Please be there for them when the comments are poor.
Leave your love for their work, just like you did before.
Share some kind words, ‘cause they inspire us too!

Makira is clearly inspired by this month’s mood board featuring Parque de Cafe.
Eden created this card using a retired stamp set from Stamping Bella. The unicorn theme can be found at different parks the world over.

No one can park hop with me, no one can craft beside me,
Seems like sharing your art with us here is the best way to be.
Someone to share your make with, share it through all the month with,
Someone to join the fun with, share in InLinkz, or Instagram.

ohhh….YEAH (imagine music here)

It’s like our words have taken a new steer,
When you make your guess today, this week, this month, just write it down here.

And, I’ll be here for you, when the ink starts to run.
I’ll be here for you, like Mr. Mic, Mary, and more.
I’ll be here for you, ’cause you’re art inspires me too.

December 2024

‘Twas the night of grand greetings, dear park-loving friends,
As we gather once more, where creativity blends.
How joyous it is, to see you all back,
For a month full of wonders that nothing shall lack.

This challenge we bring, a call to your art,
Let theme parks inspire each piece from your heart.
What fun it shall be, with imaginations set free,
To craft what you love, be it wild or serene.

To theme parks worldwide, we now make our way,
Where Christmas is found and brightens the day.
With holiday cheer and festivities around,
A red and white canvas on which joy is found.

Our designers have worked, with hearts full of cheer,
Creating grand marvels to bring you good cheer.
If their works touch your heart, as they have touched ours,
Do visit their profiles and shower them with flowers.

In this fortunate time, we’re blessed with fair Eden,
Who’s crafted not one, but two works this season.
As both artist and guest, she shines so bright,
Her gifts to our world, a most wondrous light.

Eden is an avid crafter. Here she clearly is inspired by the red mood board above and the Gingerbread Houses at Disneyworld, FL.
Eden is a big fan of moth-man. She created a beautiful card inspired by the Dark Universe soon to open at Epic Universe.
Makira was inspired by the festive carolers at Epcot and the Dapper Dans at Magic Kingdom singing “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”

So come, all ye crafters, with tools at the ready,
Create something magical, be it bold or be it steady.
Share what you make, let your talents be known,
Through Inlinkz below, or on Instagram shown.

Oh, the thrill of it all, as we wait with delight,
To see what you’ll craft in the glow of this night.
And should you need guidance, a spark to ignite,
Our inspiration page stands ready, shining bright.

But wait, here’s a twist, a puzzle for you,
These words have been spun with a style to construe.
Can you guess who inspired this playful rhyme?
Write down your answer, there’s a prize for your time.

So may the magic of parks you hold dear,
Fill you with joy and creative cheer.
Let your artistry sparkle, let your works shine,
For the world is made brighter by your design.

Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

November 2024

Once, there was a crafter named Makira who wanted her new crafting bog to be inspired by theme parks.

When you visit our blog, first we will inspire you with a monthly inspiration board, but then we will welcome any theme park inspiration you choose.

In the frosty embrace of winter, theme parks transform beneath blankets of snow. Some shutter their gates entirely, while others embrace the icy season, opening their doors to a whimsical wonderland of snowy adventures. ❄️🧤❄️

So, off went our designers. It wasn’t long before they created a small collection of wonders to spark your imagination. Should their creations captivate your heart as they have ours, we kindly request that you pay a visit to their profiles and sprinkle them with your lovely comments.

Eden created this card inspired by the colors of the mood board & post cards you can find at the Owl Post at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Makira, an avid paper crafting enthusiast, has designed a stunning card inspired by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. While we may never witness the characters’ graduation, the theme of education resonates throughout this magical universe.
Makira was inspired by the snowy inspiration and the fairies of old.

Next, a creator hopped over, brimming with excitement. Having spent the day looking for creative inspiration, he decided to join in the fun. Makira and Eden welcomed him warmly, guiding him to link his creation to the challenge. Simply add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post, or share your masterpiece on Instagram tagging us @parkhoppingmyhappyplace.

Up through the midst of browsing the challenge, a crafter appeared. She eyed our challenge and began to search for more inspiration. Makira and Eden were pleased and directed her to our inspiration page for help.

On our way to another month of fun, the verbal style of the blog once again has transformed. It is a loved wordsmith illustrated among our makes. Can you guess who?

On her way to the craft room, Eden saw an odd shape in the distance. It was a new arrival of craft supplies sihouetted against the hallway mirror. As she excitedly approached UPS’s new “gift,” she saw Makira around the corner. She looked to see if Eden was ok and then saw the new delivery.

Eden went back to the craft room, with joy and enthusiasm, just as before, and Makira went along with her. Happy crafting!

#42Yvonne. Inspired by Christmas, I love her scene and 3D effect. It reminds me of Christmas window displays of the past; some years they still adorn Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld.

#47, Vivian, inspired by Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. Vivian’s collage ability is amazing! Love all her layers and seamless incorporation of items. This journal page reminds me of Borgin & Burkes, Traders of Dark Objects and Oddities at Universal Studios, FL Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Diagon Alley (ok, Knockturn Alley)

#67 Loriinspired by Halloween. I love her coloring and layout, especially the contrasting colors of the sky. Gorgeous! Her card reminds me of the witches from the movie Hocus Pocus, seen at the Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld.

Congratulations!

October 2024

Halloween is coming, Great Crafters! Oh, I love this time of year.

This challenge is open to anything that sparks your imagination and is inspired by or related to a theme park.

If anyone had told me I’d be spending Halloween night surrounded by enthusiastic Disney adults, I’d have said they were absolutely right.

This month, we’re soaking up the sunshine in Orlando, FL, USA, and attending Magic Kingdom’s enchanting Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

This month, our inspiration board takes its cue from Halloween, the vibrant hue of orange, and the beloved pumpkin patch.

Come on, let’s get going. It’s time for the design team creations. Just look. Nothing but wonders as far as the eye can see. Oh, Great Crafters, you’ll have to leave comments for us! Yes, that’s the way. Thank you, oh, Great Ones!

Eden draws her color inspiration from the board above; however, her topic inspiration comes more from the Halloween Horror Nights party at Universal than the Not So Scary party at Disney.
This month, Makira draws inspiration from the latest board to create a delightful fall card. With the help of Tim Holtz’s fantastic products, she has crafted a sweet design that’s all set to be sent out in the mail.

This month is a big month! All you have to do is step into your craft room, create something magical, and share it. And yes, it’s totally legal! Share your creation by adding a link in the Inlinkz located at the bottom of this post, or grace Instagram with your masterpiece and tag us @parkhoppingmyhappyplace.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

What’s the cure for creative block? A chocolate-cream and our inspiration page.

By the way, what happened to the writing in this post? Oh, it was transformed to mimic the style of a noted pumpkin story. Have you noticed? This is the time of the month to write down your guess below.

Just wait and see! Theme park inspiration is real! I’ll find enchanting artistry to serve as a wellspring of inspiration! The great crafters will post their links and I’ll be waiting for them!

Farewell, farewell, farewell! Thanks for everything!

Makira!

September Center Stage Designers & Winner

We have our Center Stage Designers for September!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last month. Your participation made choosing the top three very challenging. Without further ado, here are our winners…

#7—Carianne. Inspired by pandas from the Ocean Park Panda Exhibit, I love her inky background and color choices. The water used with the inks somehow reminds me of the “street” artists who draw with water throughout Magic Kingdom in Orlando.

#52, Kathy, inspired by the inspiration board & coffee from around Disney’s parks. I love this little fairy nestled among the coffee. I can just imagine one of the fairies in Pixie Hollow sitting and sipping a morning coffee.

#72, Pyria inspired by the Mummy ride at Universal Studios. I love this CAS card and how she positioned the sentiment. The card absolutely reminds me of the actors that walk through this area of the park on stilts.

#92 Deniseinspired by the Secret Lives of Pets. Theme Park. I love her use of the block stamp in repetition. Although the inspiration comes from cats (my weakness), it also remind me of the scene from Harry Potter when the living room is full of cards “flying” around.

Congratulations!

If you want to be a designer for our designer spotlight, please email makira@parkhoppingmyhappyplace.com.

The author I was trying to emulate was…

Laura Joffe Numeroff from the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie

September 2024

If you give a crafter a challenge, she’s going to ask for inspiration to fuel her creativity.

When she looks at the inspiration photo, she will be so excited that she will want to create something of her own. She’ll ask for stamps & ink.

While deciding what to create, she will think of theme parks and want to take a trip to sunny Orlando, FL, where she will want to visit Epcot. Once there, she’ll be tempted by the delicious food and delightful wines from around the world. As she savors these international treats, she’ll find herself celebrating flavors from far and wide. And when she tastes and experiences Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival, she will surely be inspired.

If you give our designers a project, they’re going to get busy. Once they’re busy, they’ll create wonderful things. Let’s see what they’ve made to spark our imagination!

When you see these wonderful makes, you’re going to want to leave a comment. When you leave a comment, you’ll need to click on the person’s name. So please remember to click on the person’s name and leave these wonderful girls some comment love.

Eden is an avid crafter. She is clearly inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy:Cosmic Rewind at Epcot at Disneyworld, FL
Makira is a big fan of paper crafting. She was inspired by the colors in Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival brochure above.

If you want to join us, you’ll need to take out your art and craft supplies. When you have your supplies, you’ll make something inspired by a theme park. After you finish, you’ll add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post or share it on Instagram with #parkhoppingmyhappyplace.

When you start crafting, I’ll be excited to see what you create this month! And if you need a little extra help to spark your creativity, check out our inspiration page.

While reading this post, you’ll have noticed we’ve changed the words on our blog and will probably want to guess who the mimic author is. When you have a guess, you’ll want to scribble it down below.

Then you will be off to create. Which means you have been inspired. When you finish your make, you’ll probably want to come back for more. When you come back for more, you’ll find new ideas and inspiration.

If you give a crafter a challenge, she’s going to ask for inspiration to fuel her creativity, and that is just the beginning.

But for now, it’s time to say goodbye. We hope you’ve had as much fun as we have! Until next time, keep creating and exploring. Goodbye for now, Makira!
