March’s Center Stage Designers & Winner

We have our Center Stage Designers for March!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in last month’s challenge! Each and every project was truly spectacular, making our task of selecting the top three incredibly challenging. Without further ado, here are our winners…

#14Bonnie, inspired by the haunted mansion. I love the lighting and the layout! It reminds me of the ride “The Mine of Lost Souls” at Canobe Lake Park, NH – USA.

#22Meghan, inspired by the Secret Life of Pets. I love her use of patterned paper & layers! This sweet puppy reminds me of the dog that is in every scene of The Carousel of Progress ride in the Magic Kingdom, Disneyworld – Orlando.

#53, Michelle was inspired by the cherry blossoms found in our inspiration photo. Her layout, choice of papers, and attention to detail are phenomenal. This definitely has Epcot’s Japan Pavillion’s vibe.

Congratulations!

If you want to be a designer for our designer spotlight, please email makira@parkhoppingmyhappyplace.com.

The author I was trying to emulate was…

I

March 2025

Here is Makira, enjoying theme parks now, with a smile, smile, smile, sitting right there on the front of her face. It is, as far as she knows, the very best way of enjoying theme parks, and she is quite sure she’s right about that.

Anyhow, here she is, ready to introduce to you. Park Hopping My Happy Place.

When I first heard this name, I thought, just as you, “But I thought this was a craft challenge?” “Ah, yes,” said the clever voice, nodding quite knowingly, “it’s a sort of craft challenge, you see, inspired by all the wonderful bits and bobs one might discover in those splendid places we call theme parks.

Sometimes our design team likes to take inspiration from the mood board above, and sometimes they like to use inspiration from other theme park sources. This month—-

“What about a little of both?”

Kathy is clearly inspired by the beautiful cherry blossoms and the couple in front of the carousel.
CZ was inspired by the foliage in the photo and the trains found at many of the parks.
Eden’s inspiration comes from Studio Ghibli’s character, Calcifer in Howl’s Moving Castle.
Makira takes her inspiration from the pinks in the inspiration photo and from the cats of Disneyland.

Once upon a time, a very long time ago now, about this Saturday, creatives created in craft rooms by themselves. One day when they were making, they came to open place in the middle of the internet, and in the middle of this place was an inLinkz, and, from the link provided, there came a way to play along.

Crafters & artists sat down at their computers, put there hands on top of the keyboard and began to think. If there is a challenge, somebody’s making a social media post, and I know I can enter there @parkhoppingmyhapyplace on Instagram.

Then they thought another long time, and said: “And the words of this blog have changed.” So, they began to think about who the impersonated author may be. Isn’t it funny how Makira likes to change things? Hmm! Hmm! Hmm! Who could the author be? Then they thought a little more… By that time they had thought of the author. They were getting rather tired by this time, so that is why they wrote their answer below.

Later on, when they had read, guessed, and played, all the crafters went home.

🤫👀Pssst….over here….Makira’s avatar is a clue to her impersonated story. 🍯🐻😁
