February 2025

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a park-loving fan in possession of creativity and inspiration, must be in want of making.

My dear crafters, you must know that our challenge is open to all that might stir the imagination, inspired by or connected to the allure of a theme park.

“Which do you mean?” said Makira, turning round to cast a momentary glance at Eden. Then, with a smile, she added, “All parks are tolerable, but for this occasion, we shall tempt our players with images inspired by the sweetest of days—Valentine’s Day.”

Our talented designers set to work with great enthusiasm. Their lively and playful imaginations found delight in all things crafty, and the month passed most pleasantly for our design team. Should you find yourself admiring their work, we humbly request that you pay a visit to their profiles and bestow upon them your kind and gracious comments.

CZ is an avid artist. Here she clearly is inspired by the color pink in the inspiration photo above.
Eden immersed herself in crochet, crafting this stunning sweater inspired by the vibrant hues from the photo, especially captivated by the rich reds and greens.
Makira is a big fan of paper crafting. She created a beautiful card & envelope duo inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo and themed after Owl Post in Hogsmede at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

    • Hi Hannah! Thank you for stopping by! The inspiration photo (mood board) is just a springboard for possibilities. Our challenge is an anything goes challenge based on theme parks; mostly it is anything goes as the theme parks world wide have such a variety of themes & IP. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Please visit our Inspiration page (https://parkhoppingmyhappyplace.com/inspiration/) if you need some help. Have a great month! Cheers, Makira

    • 🎯✨🤗 Becca, I don’t remember that much either. For this choice, I googled “famous love stories” and it came up in the top 3. Knowing that it is well known, I read it (I don’t remember reading this one in school-I’m more or a math & science student myself) and did my best emulation. Hope you have a great week! Cheers, Makira

  1. Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”… and that very memorable opening line that sets the tone of the story and the era. I always love how you emulate the writing styles in your monthly posts. Delightful, indeed!

    • 🎯✨🤗 Thank you, Karen. This one was hard for me as I am not as familiar with this story. Often times I choose a story to emulate and then end up reading it; or, listening to it’s audio form to & from work. Have a great month! Makira

  2. Great mood board this month. As for the inspiration for your introduction writing style, I also choose Jane Austen’s novel “Pride and Prejudice.” (I loved the book, the movie and especially the audio book from our local library. That said, I never would have survived living in that era. Yikes!
