July Center Stage Designers & Winner

We have our Center Stage Designers for July!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last month. Your participation made choosing the top three very challenging. Without further ado, here are our winners…

#18 – Ellie. Inspired by love birds in the Enchanted Tiki Room. I absolutely adore the stenciled background! .

#73, Denise – Inspired by the Olaf at Typhoon Lagoon. I absolutely love the simplicity of the focal point’s colors contrasted with the “busier” background.

#98 Meghan inspired by the Secret Lives of Pets at Universal Hollywood. These furry friends are adorable! They remind me so much of my own pets when they see the pile of Christmas presents.

Congratulations!

If you want to be a designer for our designer spotlight, please email makira@parkhoppingmyhappyplace.com.

The author I was trying to emulate was…

Rick Riordan from the book Percy Jackson, the Lightning Thief.

The lucky winner of the Amazon gift card?

#5 – Kathy

So who is the lucky winner of the $25 gift card?

#48 Congratulations, Denise

and entry…

Congratulations! Please email me at makira@parkhoppingmyhappyplace.com with your email address so we can send your prize link. The Inlikz winner, please also include which gift card you would like to receive. Please email me no later than
August 15th.  All prizes not claimed will be forfeited.

Thanks to everyone who joined in with the challenge, and we hope you will all join in our current challenge, too! August’s challenge will be posted at 6:00pm CST this evening.

Cheers, 🎨🎢🌟Makira

Please accept my apologies for the lack of comments. Eden and I experienced the eye of Hurricane Beryl at the beginning of the month and have been working hard to get everything back together. Between work and our house, we were without power for almost three weeks. Isn’t it frustrating when life interrupts your crafting time?!

  1. Thanks for the Center Stage recognition! I had fun making the snowman card! Wish I could claim the random number prize, but it isn’t my card shown in the photo!

  2. Thanks for the Amazon Gift Card. And I want to provide a little info about my guess. I listen to audio books whenever I craft. Since I’m now retired, I tend to go through LOTS of them! Just recently was looking for new authors and a a friend, who knows I like adventure books (for all ages) recommended the Percy Jones series. So, I had just checked them out at our local library’s on-line audio library and put a few on hold. Now I am really looking forward to listening to them!

    • We love audiobooks as well. I tend to listen to them in the car on the way to & home from work. Often times I will find out who the narrator is (if I like them) and seek out other books they have read. Has so far worked well for me. Can’t wait to see what you create this month! 🙏✂️🎨🖌️✨

  3. Glad you’re back up and safe!

Centerpoint and Xfinity are the two ultimate cuss words this year.

And right on cue, got our annual homeowner’s insurance premium bill – almost double over last year!

I feel really bad for homeowners who’ve barely been able to buy food and gas.

We’ve decided to move inland, closer to our daughter near Austin. We give up! xoxo

    • Yup, two common curse words. Where are you moving to? My husband works for a tech company out of Austin. We had an apartment there until COVID (another curse word), when he was able to work from home. Although it was inconvenient for us, I know many people who are truly struggling. Have a great week! xoxo Makira

      • Not for sure yet, still looking online after taking day trips to rule out other areas closer, but our daughter and son-in-law’s house is 3 blocks inside MLK and 183 in Austin, so Shadow Glen subdivision in Manor north of 290 would be ideal. But will also look between there and Elgin. Honey wants to look at La Cima in San Marcos, but I’ve never lived anywhere but flat land and east of Austin is still prairie and I prefer that. We are no way living in Austin (much to daughter’s chagrin). After we get to looking in person, may all change but that’s our plan now.

  4. Oh cool! I can see that since there is still so much pasture land. Yeah, Manor looks to be the best choice for us. An urgent care with a helicopter pad is at the base of the neighborhood and a new HEB is opening blocks away Oct. 2025 (Honey’s #1 need, lol). I took a research deep dive into San Marcos La Cima community and learned they’re building a 20-acre film studio at the front of it that was initially opposed by residents worried about water supply which then got me into learning it was on top of the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone and now I’m fearing sinkholes, so no go. Manor and Elgin are in a good spot for water supply. Blowing my mind what all I need to research and not even trying to predict how eventual 290 widening may impact. I’ll be dead by then hopefully. LOLOL (Oh and one good thing, Elon is close by so we’ll be able to get great internet! Also loving all the underground utils…)

    • Yeah, underground is AWESOME! We drove one night from Houston to Austin via 290 and were overwhelmed by the droids in the sky. It truly felt like we were having an alien encounter there were so many. We just assumed that it was Michael Dell doing something; however, it could have be Elon. Hard to say?!
