August 2024

Eden and Makira of Park Hopping My Happy Place welcome you back and are proud to say that this challenge is perfectly normal; thank you very much.

Our month starts on an ordinary Thursday this first day of August. As we start our adventure, let’s think of nothing except theme parks and the arts and crafts inspired by them.

Nearly eighteen months have passed since we began this journey, and this month we are on our way back to Orlando, Florida in the United States. Here, we enter The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley and the quaint village of Hogsmeade await. While the majestic halls of the Ministry of Magic remain concealed for now, whispers reach our eager ears that its grand debut is foreseen in the year 2025.

CRAFTERS! COME AND LOOK AT THESE MAKES, YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT YOU’LL SEE!

If, perchance, their masterpieces ensnare your affections, we humbly extend an invitation for you to grace their profiles with the magic of your kind words.

Makira, inspired by the Hogwarts cards and colors, created this special delivery. Using Tim Holtz distress oxide inks, clear embossing, and Tim Holtz stamps, the card’s colors and theme of postage reflect the mood board beautifully.
Although Eden made the hop over to Orlando, she draws her inspiration from the ET ride, most precisely ET’s friends from his home planet.

Dear crafters, we are pleased to inform you that you are invited to join us here at Park Hopping My Happy Place. Please join us below by adding a link in the Whimsilinkz found at the bottom of this parchment, or grace Instagram with the brilliance of your masterpiece, with the tag @parkhoppingmyhappyplace. We await your submission no later than August 31.

Questions may be exploding inside your head like fireworks, making it difficult to decide what to do first. Should you require additional inspiration, I encourage you to peruse our inspiration page—it stands prepared to ignite the flames of your creativity.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

This is just an ordinary blog full of ordinary crafters. Could there really be a change in the verbiage of this blog? Might this not be a whitty puzzle to decipher? If you hadn’t known our sense of humor, you now do. Is this? Can this be? Write your thoughts below.

Must get on — Lots to do. Come on, theme parks are just watin’ for yeh.

Thanks, I’ll need something to look forward to… Bye, Makira

July Center Stage Designers & Winner

We have our Center Stage Designers for July!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last month. Your participation made choosing the top three very challenging. Without further ado, here are our winners…

#18 – Ellie. Inspired by love birds in the Enchanted Tiki Room. I absolutely adore the stenciled background! .

#73, Denise – Inspired by the Olaf at Typhoon Lagoon. I absolutely love the simplicity of the focal point’s colors contrasted with the “busier” background.

#98 Meghan inspired by the Secret Lives of Pets at Universal Hollywood. These furry friends are adorable! They remind me so much of my own pets when they see the pile of Christmas presents.

Congratulations!

If you want to be a designer for our designer spotlight, please email makira@parkhoppingmyhappyplace.com.

The author I was trying to emulate was…

Rick Riordan from the book Percy Jackson, the Lightning Thief.

The lucky winner of the Amazon gift card?

#5 – Kathy

So who is the lucky winner of the $25 gift card?

#48 Congratulations, Denise

Cheers, 🎨🎢🌟Makira

Please accept my apologies for the lack of comments. Eden and I experienced the eye of Hurricane Beryl at the beginning of the month and have been working hard to get everything back together. Between work and our house, we were without power for almost three weeks. Isn’t it frustrating when life interrupts your crafting time?!
